General information

​

The agency was created in 2003 on behalf of the Association du Bénévolat, Luxembourg. The Association du Bénévolat was founded in 2002, after the International Year of Volunteers 2001.

​

​

The main activities of the “Agence du Bénévolat” are:

​

*To promote and encourage voluntary action as a major and active component in the provision of services to the community
*To work toward the recognition of voluntary work by public authorities and official organisations
*To provide training for local volunteer centre staff, voluntary organisations and voluntary work projects and their volunteers
*To provide documentation on subjects associated with volunteerism and voluntary organisations
*To promote volunteerism by meeting various audiences such as students, retirees, business people and children
*To organise and coordinate different voluntary activities
*To promote voluntary work (conferences, newsletter publishing, web-site creation, different volunteers’ events, etc.)
*To collect and disseminate database information
*To network with similar organisations in the Saar-Lor-Lux-region.
